The Zirc Abbey of the Cistercian Order announces with a sore heart, but accepting the will of God, that Zoltán Bán, Elisha Bán, a Cistercian sacrificial priest, the former governor of the Zirc Abbey in the 88th, monastic 70th, 59th sacramental priesthood.

The atoning sacrificial Mass for the deceased pastor will be presented on March 1 at 11 a.m. in the Zirc Abbey Basilica and will then be laid to rest in the Cistercian tomb garden of the Zirc cemetery.

Zoltán Elizeus Bán was born on April 3, 1931 in Kaposvár. He completed his secondary school studies at the Lajos Nagy High School of the Cistercian Order in Pécs between 1941 and 1949. On August 29, 1949, Zircen joined the Cistercian Order, and he made his first vow on June 22, 1950. In September 1950, at the encouragement of his superiors, he left the country with several of his fellow students, then was arrested and imprisoned in Hungary between 1950 and 1954.

In 1954 he was a seminary student from Győr, from here he was fired in 1955 due to his monasticism. In 1955 he was a caretaker in Püspökszentlászló, then in the Migazzi Home in Verőce, and finally in the priest's home in Székesfehérvár until 1957. He made a simple perpetual vow on October 11, 1956 in Bodajk. From February 1957 to 1959 he was the little priest of the Budapest Central Seminary.

He was ordained a priest on April 2, 1960 in Budapest. Between 1959 and 1963 he was a material purchaser at the Piliscsaba charity service; From 1960 to 1962 he was a pastoral aide.

On August 15, 1963, he made a solemn perpetual vow in Pannonhalma. From 1962 to 1969 he worked as an accountant at the Pannonhalma Social Home. Between 1969 and 1973 as a pastor in Hejcé, from 1973 to 1981 as a chaplain in Nagynyárád; In 1981–1984 he served as a parish priest in Bükkösd, then in 1984–1988 in Görcsöny.

From 1988 he was able to serve again in the order: between 1988 and 1994 he was a novice master in the convent of Nagyvenyim, meanwhile he served as a parish priest in 1989 in Apátszállás, in 1990 also in Baracs, and from 1993 in Nagyvenyim. From 1994 to 2008 he was a novice master at Zircen. At the request of his superior, he obtained a license and a PhD between 1995 and 2002. From 2004 to 2011 it was a slash, in December 2010 it was a governing slash in Zirc. From 2008 to 2011 he served as a parish priest in Zirc. In 2011 he was elected an honorary citizen of the city of Zirc. He has been retired since 2012.
