Interestingly enough, I've seen this issue come up before, not here, mind you. I've heard of some Christian parents who held a strict ban on vaginal intercourse between their son and his girlfriend, but felt that oral sex would be alright.
The question in the heading of your post is somewhat misleading. Judging from your description, you're not really asking if fellatio is a sin, but whether it qualifies as sexual intercourse and therefore adultery if performed outside of marriage.
My opinion is yes, it does. Remember Bill Clinton's immortal quote: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." When it was later revealed that they had engaged in oral sex, the general concensus what that his statement was a lie, or at least incorrect. Fellatio may not be the type of intercourse that can produce a baby, but it is still within the realm of intimacy that is to be shared by only a husband and wife. The sexual bond between a man and woman is not simply about procreation, but also a shared experience that is unique to the two, a level of intimacy that neither holds with anyone else.
Since you asked if it was a sin, I'm assuming that you're patterning your life according to Christian ethics. If you want my advice (take it or leave it, as you please), I would withdraw from the class immediately. Is your husband aware that you were taking the class and what it involved? If not, I think the right thing to do is explain to him what you did and why, and pray that he understands. You also need to ask forgiveness from God.
I hope I've answered your question and I pray God's blessing on you.
