Based on pure logic or pure wishful thinking? There is a difference.

>>1) Did you read the entire Bible before you became a

Oh!

>>2) Did you read the entire Bible before you decided it

Don't you find it odd that you've placed a book on the level of "perfect" before you've read the whole thing? Isn't that a huge jump to make with any book, much less a book you haven't read? I guess it's time for me to pull out some of... "Ben's Favorite Bible Verses"!!

Here are some, in no particular order:

"Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants ..." 1st Samuel 15:3, NIV

Isaiah 45:7 "I make peace and create evil. I the Lord do all these things."

Ezekiel 20:25,26 "I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live. And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the Lord."

He said to Moses: (Ex. 4:21) "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do; but I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go."

"But if the thing is true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the young woman, then you shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones..." ..........Deuteronomy 22:20

"...they have rejected the word of the Lord, and what wisdom is in them? Therefore I will give their wives to others..." ..........Jeremiah 8:9

"...I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the light of this sun." ..........2 Samuel 12:11

As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church." ..........1 Corinthians 14:34

"Let a woman learn in silence with all submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor." ..........Timothy 2:11

2 Samuel 12:11
"This is what the LORD says: `Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity upon you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight.

Numbers 21:6
Then the LORD sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died.

Exodus 22:29
"Do not hold back offerings from your granaries or your vats. [1] "You must give me the firstborn of your sons.

Psalm 137:
8
O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us--
9
he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

Deuteronomy 21
10
When you go to war against your enemies and the LORD your God delivers them into your hands and you take captives,
11
if you notice among the captives a beautiful woman and are attracted to her, you may take her as your wife.

Hosea 13:16
The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open."

Hosea 9:16
Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring."

These are all quotes from the book you hold dear. Quite frankly, I wouldn't let my kids read such violent literature.

>Actually I stopped coming here cos I got the feeling I
>was overstaying my welcome, people where getting fed up
>with my unwavering faith in my beliefs-Although you
>would probably call it "my stubborn attitude ," and I
>got very busy on other boerds is all.

I don't think you've overstayed your welcome. All views are welcome here. I will speak my mind about what I think, but your views are always welcome as far as I'm concerned.
