Duane,

I never really thought about the formal definition of a one to one correspondence in relationship to this argument. I did have suspicions that though two things may be infinite that they were not necessarily equal, and therefore not necessarily both equally and mutually mapped to one another. The definition you found does seem to cast doubt on the first premise, although I suspect by that phrase Wade probably had some other definition in mind. (and even if he didn't, he will).

My fundamental problem with the whole thing has been and continues to be somewhat less abstract and more pragmatic. Humans have beginnings, and they have them despite whether or not time is infinite. Setting up some sort of situation in which a human is to perform a task without beginning makes absolutely no sense. Beginnings are intrinsic to human nature, because we don't live infinitely long, and even if we DID live infinitely long, we have to still be born, unless the person in question is some sort of super human, which rather makes the conversation take on flights of fancy.
