Which ones??!!

>So this backs up our already existing faith. Faith is

I'm sure prophecies would back up faith even if they interpretted after the fact. (remember effort dissonance?)

>The definition of faith is the assured expectation of
>things hoped for, the evidedent demonstration of
>realities though not beheld.

Okay, but can't I hope for anything? Wouldn't my faith in the tortoise God of Andromeda be as strong as your faith by this definition?

>True faith is not credulity, that is, a readiness to
>believe something without sound evidence or just
>because a person wants it to be so. Genuine faith
>requires basic or fundamental knowledge, aquaintance
>with evidence, as well as heartfelt appreciation of
>what that evidence indicates.

okay...wouldn't that still leave room for my tortoise God?

>Thus, although it is impossible to have real faith
>without accurate knowledge, the Bible says that it is
>"with the heart" that one exercises faith.

Okay. So you believe in the Bible because your heart tells you to? See, I'm a fan of your heart not telling you squat. I think your brain tells you ultimately whether or not you believe. Now, one might say that there is no logical basis for faith, or that it is emotionally driven, and I'd readily agree with either of those statements. The troubling aspect is that you seem to believe that there is "evidence" and "facts" for your faith, but I'm willing to bet that the "faith" part always comes first, and without it the "evidence and facts" are feeble at best and spurious at worst.
