The thing is, it only matters for the exam. Once you pass, you really are free to judge however you want, and that is pretty apparent from seeing the marks of judges. A good example is how some judges score a competion of 25 or so use a range of 80-88 while the others may score between 70-90.

If the competitions are small, try scoring only even or odd numbers. It really helps to spread out your marks.
