In reply to: Cool 's message, "The new Miss Texas is actually from Delaware. Anyone know anything about her?" on 04:52:39 07/03/10 Sat

Hey! I'm Ashley Melnick and I'm 18 years old. I moved to Texas 2 years ago and this is my 7th house I've lived in!!!! Now I'm In college, studing Business Music and with a minor in vocal performance. I've lived in Delaware most of my life and lived in Albany, NY for about 6 months. Besides that, I've been singing since I was 3. I have trained vocally most of my life and even sang classical opera for 3 years. I started out doing pageants when I was young and realized the talent category was my favorite. For the longest time I was on "The Al Albert's Showcase". If anyone is from the Philadelphia area, you'll remember seeing that show air Saturday afternoons. Most of the singing I've done has been in the Philadelphia area. When I was 10, I started singing at the Philadelphia 76ers.. you could pretty much call me "the anthem singer". I sing the national anthem at a lot of sporting events. I got to experience my first real highschool Texas football game by singing the national anthem! Not only is singing important to me, but piano. I've been playing for about 10 years; classically trained also. I've done dancing for 11 years and stopped at 13 because I wanted to try sports.. sports isn't exactly my calling ha. I've done a lot of plays.. I love to act. Last year at my school we did "The King and I" and I was Anna. It was such an incredible experience and I will remember all the good times and memories I shared with all my cast members. As far as family goes, I have one sibling, my brother Ryan. Ryan is 23 years old and has Autism. He is such a cool guy!! He went to the same school as me and everyone loved him.. he's was more popular than me!! ha He's such a big part of my life and wouldn't be the person I am without him. The songs currently on my MySpace are all the songs I've recorded on my demo. I co-wrote "Turn the Page" and "Till the End of Time". "Hold me High" was written by Lauren Hart, an amazing singer/songwriter from Philadelphia who I thank so much for letting me use her song. The person that helped me the most throughout making the demo was Ritchie Rubini. He produced, arranged, helped write the songs...ahh everything!! I thank him soo much for putting up with me... as far as getting my wisdom teeth out and trying to record!! Ahh!! With all that said I hope you enjoy my music.
