Congrats to the new Miss DE USA Kelsey Miller (former Miss DE TUSA) and the new Miss DE Teen USA Mia Jones. Mia is a former Miss Delaware's Outstanding Teen competitor.

A special congrats also to Renee Bull who was named 2nd runner-up to Miss DE USA (Renee was is MAO competitor)... also to Allyssa Murray (Miss DE 2012) and Kaitlin Rapella (Miss DE 2013 contestant) for making the Miss DE USA top 15 semi-finals.

I think people (ad the atual first runnr up that comes back to compete the following year) automatically assume it's a guaranteed win.Some come back with ttitudes and that shows and kills their chances at winning. There have been several years where I scratched my head at the first runner ups. Different years with different judges. It's all so subjective. -- Past contestant, 08:10:59 07/06/13 Sat This is a neat observation. 2004/2005 is about the time they started the ballot I believe, so it would make sense that the r/u positioning within the top 5 is a bit arbitrary lately. I also attribute the teen program feeding new women into the miss division almost annually, which can throw results off year-to-year. I remember when I was 14 or 15 years old and the pageant had its first black contestant; her last name was George from Dover. Stayed in contact with the late Bettye James when she ran the pageant in the 70's and had great success. Now, the Miss Delaware Pageant is having great success in the 2000's. I know I am long winded....with all that said, I will be attending the pageant for the first time this year. How much are the tickets? Can they be bought at the venue?
