I purchased a ze5185 about the middle of December, 2002. Use it daily and can't find a thing to complain about. Frequently have it on my lap and it is not hot. It is not noisy. Previously I owned 3 Toshiba and the first one was an excellent machine but in my mind the quality has gone downhill in recent years. I hope this helps, good luck!
