Subject: In Honor of a True Cinderella Girl

Texas Cinderella Family. My heart is sad to say a longtime friend and supporter of Cinderella, Susan Parks, has passed away after a 2.5 year battle with cancer. She competed in the pageant from the time it started and continued to work on staff for many years. In recent years, she has worked as a judge and although she never had any children of her own, she was always stayed interested in the program because she loved it. She watched Ashton's pageant videos every summer and kept track of so many girls as they grew up. She also joined us in Dallas to watch the finals.

Susan's spirit was a true legacy with the Cinderella program. She never wore an overall crown, but she represented what Cinderella was really made of -- love, enjoyment, growing, self-improvement, support and friendship. (The things that a crown can never replace). She won Miss Congeniality at Texas State and Internationals more times than anyone else in history.

This summer, another long-time Cinderella supporter, Lisa Mandel and I started the Susan Parks Congeniality Scholarship Award at Internationals. Each year one girl from the Teen and one from the Woman division who reflect true Cinderella "spirit" will recieve this scholarship. We hope it honors Susan's spirit and encourages similar characteristics in young girls today.

Susan was SO proud of this honor. She told so many people about it. She truly loved Cinderella and positive impact it had on her life. if you'd like to help honor Susan or those important characteristics that make a true Cinderella girl, you can send contributions to:
Susan Parks Clark Congeniality Scholarship Fund,
