You meet an old friend at the end of Mission 9 who gives you some new tools to use. The frog beast egg is one of them. You throw it at an enemy and it hatches a little frog beast that jumps into people and explodes causing them to take major damage. You may remember these from the last few levels of Thief: The Dark Project- you could blow them up by hitting them w/ an arrow. Very handy for clearing out a room.
