Thanks for splitting it PJ - and now I'll answer most of it. I'm comfortable with discussing methods, etc., but not with details of actual spankings I've given to my sons.

1.Your gender and approximate age? Male, 40s

2.The genders and ages of the kids that you spank - 2 sons, 15 and 17

3.Your relationship to the kids you spank - Father (they won't admit it in front of friends though!)

4.How often do you spank? - 1-2 months

5.In what position do you usually spank? Always over the lap

6.Do you usually spank bare? Always

7.What implement(s) do you usually spank with? - Hand, paddle or belt (depending on why I'm spanking)

8.Do you spank in private? - They share a room and neither has ever wanted to stick around when the other is getting it, so it's never been something I had to make a rule about. If they're both getting it, then it's together.

9.When did you give your last spanking? - About 3 weeks ago.

10. What was the gender and age of the last kid(s) that you spanked? - Male, but not going to say which son.

11.What was it for? - or what it was for this time.

12.What is the main reason for the spankings you give? - Curfew, school related things and the occasional really bad thing (don't want to give any of you here ideas of what to do!)

13.Describe the worst spanking you have given? Maximum is about 3 times age with the belt, but I don't count precisely. Could be a bit more or less.

14.How do the kids feel about spanking in general? Cooperative? I'm pretty sure they don't like it. ;) But co-operation isn't an option.

15.Do others know that you spank? Is spanking prevalent in your community? Some do. It's not talked about a lot

16. Roughly where are you from? I'm roughly in Canada. Also smoothly in Canada.

I am wondering how it is that you still decide to spank your boys when I thought it was against the law to do so on Canada.

I am glad you do and probably deep down they are too.

Am I wrong, is the law not enforced, or do you sons have an agreement not to "turn you in" or is it something else.

Just curious.

I think it is a stupid law.

There is not a law specifically, it's rather an interpretation of what reasonable punishment is, since the law states that parents may use corporal punishment. I don't spank in a way that would make anyone ask questions and of course my kids aren't interested in sending me to prison.

I've never heard of anyone criminally charged for a private, non abusive spanking. Only people who've spanked their children in public, or clearly abusive behaviour.
