Hello to all from Australia, my first message after a lot of 'lurking'.
I had a small collection of old 'borrowed'girdles in need of updating.I summoned the courage to go into a department store, during a sale, to get a replacement. Once I asked for help and the older saleslady picked out a Playtex panty girdle and waited in line with me at the register until I paid. I was now emboldened and went in to the same store another time but alas no helpful saleslady. I picked one out and waited in line. When I was at the register a young sales assistant scanned my purchase and myself and an alarm bell rang in her head.She took my money and replied "Here you are SIR!! or even here is your girdle SIRRRRR!" I was mortified but survived.I had a few other frontline purchases, looking for my favourite a long legged high waist girdle, with pleasant serving staff.Finally my favourite girdle stopped being sold, ALAS!It is then I discovered ebay. A torrent unleashed! Finally got that under control. Now the girdles are no longer even on ebay, except occasionally as worn out secondhand items.The golden age has passed and I feel a bit like one of the last dinosaurs surveying an arid wasteland. Good to see this site waking up a bit, regards to all!
