Subject: OBG may be the most comfortable

I believe an OBG is the most comfortable as that is what I wore in rubber when they were available. Rubber stayed put and didn't slide around when you moved the way a modern lycra or elastic girdle will. You must tie it down with support hose or nylons to keep it from riding up. People today say the OBG is the coolest and most comfortable girdle available, but getting a proper fit is a problem. They are made to look stylish on a model or in an advertisement, but the fit and long term comfort are another matter. Fabric stores have a good selection of Lycra that can be used to make girdles. Barge Cement is easy to use, has good holdng ability, and flexes when stretched or bent.The joints do not come apart.

I do this because there are people who depend on me and I need to stay alive, healthy, and out of the hospital. A rubber girdle is an old workhorse and is just as practical in a potato field as on the dance floor. I used to have difficulty standing for any length of time, but I unloaded 3 Tons of goods from a tractor- trailer in 5 hours, using a hand truck to haul them a 1/4 mile to my house, I was actually surprised when i woke up the next morning feeling half decent. I am currently in my mid 80's and have had congestive heart failure for 40-years. I had open heart surgery some years ago, but I am slowing down somewhat now due to age, inactivity, and lack of exercise. A job where you are outdoors in clean air and mostly on your feet is the best job. Stay away from office work in a hot non-air conditioned office.

Girdles are not nearly as popular as they once were, and it takes a lot of experimenting with the available materials to find something workable. You will get no help or support from anybody. You are on your own. More people are choosing to go it alone, and women seem to hate men who are not supporting a wife. It is risky to share anything with anybody who can do you harm.
