I am a new medical assistant working in a doctors office. It was my first week there. Dave the nurse called me into one of the exams rooms. He said Tabitha the patient you took care of yesterday turned up positive for bacterial menigitis. He said we need to give you a gram of rocephin to cover you. I noticed there were two syringes filled with a yellow medication. He tells me I need to lie on the gurney which I did. He untied my scrubs and pulls them down past my hips. He then pulled down my panties. I am embarrased because now my butt is fully exposed. He picks up the first needle and I feel him place his hand firmly across my left hip and then I felt him jab the needle into my butt and inject. It hurt so bad. I was crying when he pulled out the needle. He rubbed my hip several minutes and then he gave me the second shot in the right hip. He placed bandaids on the two sites and helped me get my panties an scrubs back up. It has been one day and I still am limping.

I am 45 years old and haven't had a shot in my rear end since I was about 5. That changed when I found myself in a clinic due to a bee sting. After the doctor looked at the site of the sting, he said a nurse would come in to give me a shot of Benedryl.
The nurse who came in was someone I recognized as a customer at the store I work at. She introduced herself and told me she was going to give me the shot in my 'fanny'. My first thought was to ask if it could possibly go in my arm, but decided to act like it id not bother me to get it in the butt. I pulled my pants and underpants down around my knees. After she finished preparing the injection, she rubbed the upper portion of my right buttock with alchohol. She had me bend over a liitle, and said it would sting as she injected the benedaryl. The needle was in for about 15 seconds, but it seemed longer. I did not care so much about the pain, but it was very enmbaarassing to be standing there with my pants down. When she was done, she again rubbed the spot with alchohol and told me I could pull up my pants. I think she could tell I was embarrassed. I guess it is hard to act coll when getting a shot in the 'fanny'.

I work in a doctors office as a receptionist. I was not feeling very well and the PA called me into the room to look at my throat. He took my temp and it was 102.8 and he did a rapid swab on my throat. I had just finished checking out a patient when he called me back into an exam room. Rachael you have strep. I said okay give me a z-pack and I will be fine. He said well I am going to give you a jump start and give you a shot of rocephin. I had discharged many patients that were still rubbing their bottoms or even had tears in their eyes after they got this shot. I knew I was not going to win. I closed the door and climbed up on the bed. I untied my scrubs and pulled them down. He pulled down my grey panties and placed an ice pack across my left cheek. I will be back in a few minutes. The pack was so cold on my bare bottom, but I knew it would numb the stick. He came pack in a few minutes and begin to massage my butt cheek firmly and then gave me a crisp smack on my bare bun and buried the needle in my butt and injected. He pulled out the needle and begin to massage my cheek. It was over and I never felt the stick. I looked at my left cheek and my normally white cheek was bright red with a small blood trail running down it. He put a cotton swab on it with a piece of tape and pulled up my panties. I got up and pulled up my scrubs. Now was that all that bad? I guess not. We will check on you in a couple of days and might have to repeat it one more time. I am 23 and today it has been 48 hours and my buttom reminds me I got a shot in that cheek everytime I sit down.
