That changed when I found myself in a clinic due to a bee sting. After the doctor looked at the site of the sting, he said a nurse would come in to give me a shot of Benedryl. The nurse who came in was someone I recognized as a customer at the store I work at. She introduced herself and told me she was going to give me the shot in my 'fanny'. My first thought was to ask if it could possibly go in my arm, but decided to act like it id not bother me to get it in the butt. I pulled my pants and underpants down around my knees. After she finished preparing the injection, she rubbed the upper portion of my right buttock with alchohol. She had me bend over a liitle, and said it would sting as she injected the benedaryl. The needle was in for about 15 seconds, but it seemed longer. I did not care so much about the pain, but it was very enmbaarassing to be standing there with my pants down. When she was done, she again rubbed the spot with alchohol and told me I could pull up my pants. I think she could tell I was embarrassed. I was not feeling very well and the PA called me into the room to look at my throat. He took my temp and it was 102.8 and he did a rapid swab on my throat. I had just finished checking out a patient when he called me back into an exam room. Rachael you have strep. I said okay give me a z-pack and I will be fine. He said well I am going to give you a jump start and give you a shot of rocephin. I had discharged many patients that were still rubbing their bottoms or even had tears in their eyes after they got this shot. I knew I was not going to win. I closed the door and climbed up on the bed. I untied my scrubs and pulled them down. He pulled down my grey panties and placed an ice pack across my left cheek. I will be back in a few minutes. The pack was so cold on my bare bottom, but I knew it would numb the stick. He came pack in a few minutes and begin to massage my butt cheek firmly and then gave me a crisp smack on my bare bun and buried the needle in my butt and injected. He pulled out the needle and begin to massage my cheek. It was over and I never felt the stick. I looked at my left cheek and my normally white cheek was bright red with a small blood trail running down it. He put a cotton swab on it with a piece of tape and pulled up my panties. I got up and pulled up my scrubs. Now was that all that bad? I guess not. We will check on you in a couple of days and might have to repeat it one more time. I am 23 and today it has been 48 hours and my buttom reminds me I got a shot in that cheek everytime I sit down. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
