Chandler do you know which shots you have to have? Usually it is a TB test and the DTAP. THe TB test is done on your forearm and you barely know it was done. If you have to get the DTAP I highly suggest that you ask to get it in your butt cheek. If you are slender your arm is going to hurt for about 4-5 days depending on how much you use it. You wake up the next day and it feels like someone slugged you in your arm. If you get it in your butt cheek as you walk throughout the day it is worked into your muscle and you will not hurt. If you decide to get in your butt cheek their are two ways to do it.
One lie face down and bare your bottom. Point your toes inward as this will relax your butt cheeks and do not tense. If you bend over drop your panties exposing your cheek. Flex the leg of the butt cheek you want the injection in. I usually will give one firm slap on the bare cheek and then poke. Your mind still feels the slap to the bare ass and you dont feel the needle poke. Let us know how it went.

Bending over and lying prone are both positions I have assumed to get buttock injections but the former is more usual. A nurse once explained that bending over not only prevents the patient from seeing the injection(s) but better defines the muscle and makes it more difficult to tense it, whereas lying prone makes it easier either to relax or tense the muscle according to patient fear.
