I wasn't there so I can't say one way or the other what this poster actually saw/experienced with her child receiving the injections.

I've had my experiences with shots, and I can't remember my parents having anything but concern for me when I had to receive injections, whether it was in my arm(s) or buttock(s), at home, the doctor's or in the hospital though believe me, I think my parents came away with a much greater appreciation of what shots can do physically and psychologically to a child and for them (psychologically); as I had to undergo the Pasteur treatment (aka "rabies shots") at age 9. This was a regimen of very painful abdominal injections administered with long needles and a very thick serum. 21 days of a needle in my belly every day. I think my parents came away with a far better understanding of how such a treatment can influence them and their children.

And I am not criticizing the post by Beth. As I said, I wasn't there.

HOnestly I can understand the perspective of Beth's post. Please hear me out. For some, there can be an excitement or fascination with getting shots in the behind... particularly when the person on the recieving end is that stereo typical person that would be getting an injection in the buttocks, a 9, 10, 11 year old boy. Makes me think of the old days, think Norman Rockwell.

Further, 11 year old boys have some of the cutest rear ends on the planet, and they think they are so big and grown up. I can see how putting him into a childish, embarrassing situation of laying with his underpants pulled below his cheeks for a harmless (all but stingy) jab in the behind could spark a moms excitement, much the same way so many folks enjoy stinging their kids bare behind during a birthday spanking.

I'm a pediatric nurse, and Ive injected countless little boys behinds. I can tell you two things for sure: 1) boys have some of the cutest little tushes on the planet. 2)Beth is ceetainly not the only parent that got some excitement watching her son get a shot in his ass. Ditto for parents watching rectal temps.

Not many admit it, but trust me it happens. This is an injection forum. Folks come here for a good read. Why are you shocked?

Vivian, being a pediatric nurse who has been giving injections in boys and girls behinds as you said, does it turn you on personally in a sexual manner somehow to give children injections? If it does, tell us exactly all the steps action for action you take before to prepare the syringe, what you feel like pushing the plunger of medicine into that behind, what it makes you feel like after you remove the needle from their behinds and what you do to help calm them down. I don’t think Beth meant everyone to believe that her son being injected was something that gave him such pain was pleasurable to her, but was simply stating the fact that her child’s behind was cute. There should have been a true separation of the two sentences so that the readers would not misunderstand what Beth meant to convey.

Thanks for your honesty, Vivian, and suspicions confirmed!
A medical receptionist once told me that her favourite part of the job was holding boys across her lap for buttock injections. When I had to get injections like that (up to about age 15), I felt so humiliated at the thought of a girl watching me get a shot in my bare bottom as to take my mind off the injection itself, so the embarrassment could have been an intentional distraction.
