 A Canadian nurse who gave injections only in the buttocks told me about her technique when visiting schools to give flu shots.

She had boys and girls in the same queue. One by one they had to pull down pants/panties and bend over her lap for the shot. Although she didn't specify, I presume it was done behind a screen but those waiting were clearly able to hear what was happening (including any screams) and see those emerging afterwards gingerly rubbing the injection-sore cheek. It must have really frightened those waiting in the queue.
