Not exactly, but when I was 6, I swatted the syringe out of the nurse's hand. Looking back on it, this would indicate to me that I was sitting on the exam table and going to get the shot in the arm. But while the nurse went to get a new syringe, my mother pulled my undies down and gave me a short spanking. When the nurse returned, I got the shot in my bottom still lying over my mother's lap. I remember this quite well because I'd be reminded year after year when I went back to the doctor that if I didn't cooperate I'd get another spanking.

When I was growing up kids respected authority, and I would not have dared to refuse. First of all, it would have done me no good, because I would have got the shot anyway. Second of all, I would have got a spanking, and spankings were way more painful than a shot. I am surprised that any parent would allow a child to swat things out of nurses hands or flat refuse to do what they are told.

I got all my shots in the butt growing up, all the way to age 18 and they rarely ever hurt after the nurse taught me to relax my bottom. I guess now they give shots in the leg instead.
