Got two injections yesterday during a six month check-up. One in each arm. A flu and a tetanus. As per protocol, height, weight, temperature (orally w/ probe unit), Blood Pressure all monitored first.
As for rectal temperatures, as I posted above; in the past at an ER, I got a rectal temp and while laying there, received a shot in each cheek. Don't think it's (RT) that common, though I don't say it doesn't happen when certain butt shots are administered. Second point is the subject of a hip/buttock shot being discussed/offered for an injection such as a flu shot or tetanus. I suspect there are those injections/meds that need to be given in the butt or hip, but I don't know that to necessarily be the case for flu/tetanus. And I'm not saying it doesn't occur with flu shots.
