The following websites give us (teachers) inspiration, ideas and new ways to improve our practices.

I strongly recommend the Baby Einstein videos for teachers who work with kids (ranging from 3 to 7 years old), because through that we can teach new vocabulary, develop students’ listening ability, entertain our students while they are learning and raise our students’ interest in the language. The videos can also motivate students with nice songs and images. Baby Einstein creators produced these videos so they could stimulate babies and toddlers, but since they are in English language they can be used as a tool to help ESL teachers and students in the teaching and learning process.

- Baby Van Gogh, is a wonderful source to practice colors with kids; Baby Neptune, good video that illustrates beautifully the ocean’s vocabulary; Baby Shakespeare, is an excellent way to teach rhyme and fluency in the language, and also to teach the alphabet; Baby McDonald, is a very cute video that shows all the animals and things in a farm, and it can also be a way to teach students how to listen to a story in English; Baby Newton, is a very good video to teach and practice about shapes.

There is also one video at Youtube.com that is very funny and it can be used as an exercise to encourage students to write stories. This video would be used just as a way to break the ice or after an explanation about the writing process. The name is NSFW. A hunter shoots a bear! It is a very interesting video, where who is watching can interact with the story by typing what the bear or the hunter should do.

This website is very nice because it gives teachers ideas about 1st day of class, games, teaching tips, teachers’ resource, ready to print activities, flashcards, newsletters, and the best of all it is all for free and very well organized.

Just like the previous website that I had suggested, this one also focuses in giving teachers ideas and insights related to classroom practice. It brings phonics, crosswords, vocabulary exercises, articles, etc. A very good help for teachers who want to innovate and change, but is running out of ideas.

These two websites addresses above have games to be played online and ideas for teachers to play with their students too. Those games contribute to the practice of learning a new language in a very entertaining way.

When thinking of adopting Reading material to their students, teachers should check for authentic Literature material, and that is what this website offers you. It also has texts online to download for free and it has reading material for young children as well.

This nice website also offers a wide variety of reading material for ESL learners.
