(A poem for President Obama by Carlo G. Soldevilla
Composed on Nov. 7, 2012)

Congratulations, Obama You’ve made it once again!
The American hopes, the American dreams are not far to be seen.
One yearns, one longs to realize his/her dream
Including that of Martin Luther King.
*“Fourscore and seven years ago…”
The greatest speech that man would ever know
Lincoln, the man had lived his life so well
And even mom had his (Abraham Lincoln) story to tell
Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall but he who trusts in the living G-d
Will bear more fruits ‘cause he knows what’s good and what’s bad
May you be like the morning daylight sun
That pierces through the lives of everyone…
That they could feel your gentle, loving touch.
Those comforting arms on one’s shoulder that bless so much.
If man desires to make another man his slave
Be guided by that film’s (The Ten Commandments) beautiful phrase:
Man makes slave out of man but G-d sets him (the man) free.
I urge you, then to look up heavenward
And find right there your life’s great reward.
Lastly, these words from the bible:
"Man looks at the outside, but G-d looks at the heart.”
May you be blessed by the living, omnipotent G-d
in your 'brand new' start.
