Kalyo

Last night before eating the Vietnamese pho hoa noodles,
I passed by the store selling animals (Pet Shop) , and I saw doves and fishes.

Quite curious if they sell fish that eats ‘kalyo’, I asked the storeowner if they sell one.
This reminds me of childhood years in Kidapawan when we swam in Saguing River and the freshwater fishes ‘feasted’ on the hairs of our feet.

I t came back to my memory when I was in Tibiao, Antique, ..missing that fish massage opportunity.
The store caretaker told me: “Do you mean fish spa—Those fishes we don’t have.”

The man who bought small fishes heard me asking for that fish that eats ‘kalyo’ (calloused skin becoming dead cells) and he can’t control his nerves causing him to laugh without a noise being heard (Too much conservative even in laughing?).

I thought of that impossibility for any person to create a business with a name: “Piranha foot spa.”

Note 1: The store location is found right at the basement of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

Note 2: Selling of piranha is against the law of the Philippines. (I’d never seen one.).
