At 7:00 p.m. tonight, my two brothers, my best friend and I dined at Wendy's.

The order took so long--a bucket of chicken.I decided to buy grapes and red wine first.

The drinks (coca-cola) however, was served first so after my purchase of the grapes and the wine, we began eating the fruits and drinking the wine mixed with the coke.

We found the mixing nice, the wine being zero percent alcohol--When mixed with wine, It (the coke) just tasted unique.

About 30 minutes later, the bucket of chicken was served with the salad. But our stomachs were already full because of the grapes, the wine and the coke.

What amazed us all including the food attendant was the expression of my best friend while the attendant was about to serve the chicken on the table:
"Oy, nag-abala ka pa." (Oh, thanks lot. Thanks for your generosity.).

This just connotes or give a meaning in the Filipino context that one would be partaking something free --out of the host's generosity. Maybe, the food attendant that time was confused about her role if she was the host of her home or a food server in a restaurant. We just exactly did not know what she was thinking about that time.

The food attendant, a lady, perhaps was caught in surprise about the way she was being 'thanked' for.

Of course, we all knew that the order was paid in advance before the food was served (but we all somehow 'forgot' this after my friend's saying of ..'Uy..nag-abala ka pa.').

The food attendant laughed shyly and went back to the food service area.
