Visiting Vigan makes you ‘enter’ into a….

..time machine that makes you go back until the day when you were not yet born--
That’s during the 15th century when Vigan had these built—the Spanish houses or ‘mansion(s)’.

The bricks, the horses, the horse carriages—All these describe Vigan. These have become a part of their culture and tradition.
The fresh sugarcane juice, sold in Baluarte and also along Calle Crisologo at approximately one dollar per glass has mellowed sweetness--so rich in nutrition.

Visiting Vigan’s Baluarte Zoo--The tigers of Chavit, the parrots , the albino kangaroo—All these are nice to see.
The ostriches, the proud peacocks, the ‘midget’ horses, the geese and the goose eggs, the tigers.. (but there’s no chimpanzee.).

The seeded green grapes so sweet, sold at P100 pesos per kilo.., the Biguenos also have their bagnets..
..but sorry, for my religious restriction, I don’t eat pork, ..(but thanks, Vigan’s neighboring town, Narvacan has a special beef soup..). You won’t regret paying Vigan and Narvacan a visit.

Inside Chavit’s Safari Gallery, you will find (in their life-sizes):
The ‘mummified’ Polar bear; the mummified black bear
The mummified lion ‘attacking’ a mummified ‘tamaraw’.


Note 1:

When I drank that sugarcane juice (concoction but later added with ice cubes and 1 calamansi fruit juice (extracted) in Vigan along Calle Crisologo, I’m reminded of that same juice being sold in India.

Note 2: Narvacan is just 30 kilometers away from Vigan. Fronting Narvacan’s Jollibee is a road that leads to the wide sea with powdery brownish-white sand. It’s an open space where you can swim for free.
