Economists are expecting that the pace of economic growth was solid in the last three months of 2011. The national accounts to be released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) on Wednesday are expected to show that gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.7 per cent in the December quarter, according to an AAP survey of 17 economists. The economists' forecast for GDP growth through 2011 is 2.3 per cent. September quarter GDP posted was a strong 1.0 per cent rise, and June quarter economic growth was at 1.4 per cent, previous ABS figures showed.
