Some years ago I had a 2WD Dodge Dakota Quad Cab Sport with the 4.7L V8............truth be known: this thing felt akin to a 1970's Mopar squad in handling and punch off of the line..........however, the high speed performance was weak, relatively speaking.
In other words: my Dakota would get to 60 MPH in a hurry but it 'laid down' from that point forward.
Although for anything short of all out interceptor service the above truck would be viable for the reasons stated in the previous posts IMHO.
