First, I get dressed up in the black ninja outfit that I made when I was a high school freshman. Then I give Realistic Handie-Talkies to all my friends. The two of us then head out on our Stingrays until we spot a cruiser. Then we radio the code words "Santa Claus is on the roof." Since we operate on standard CB frequencies (usually just Channel 14) we never give out an exact location. We use a triangulation method that I learned about on the A-Team. When I get close to the cops I usually take a couple minutes to catch my breath and get prepared mentally for the challenge that I know I am about to face. Then I take up a defensive position closest to the bike path. I wait, like a tiger on the hunt. I watch the police officer, sometimes two, as they write reports or shoot rubber bands at each other, then I make my move. I like to refer to it as "photoblitz". I run full speed at the blind side of the officers until I'm just within range of the mirrors. Then I change my stride to an immelman arc until I reach the front 3/4 of the vehicle. I snap my picture during a dive manuever with the camera at the end of my fully extended arms. I use 3200 speed film at 1/3000 second to cut down on blur. I use a Sun-Pak strobe that was designed for NASA. (I bought it at a garage sale for $10!) It runs on D batteries and it is so powerful that it disorients the officers long enough for me to make a clean get-a-way. Please do not try my method unless you have a good ninja outfit with pockets and live near a bike path. Thanks for reading about how I get my shots.
