For all the discussion about "police impersonators" and stolen plates -- I sware this is a true story: Just last night in Roxana, DE this 97 Crown Vic whips out from behind a farm and pulls up on my back bumper like he's "checking me out" The car was marked with insignia on the door and stripes like I have never seen before. Not being one bit fearful or worried that I had done anything wrong -- I pulled right over and this jerk realizes I have "called his bluff" -- he keeps right on going. The car has a meaningless "police shield" on the door and "SUPERVISOR" under it, and stripes and red and blue bar light on the roof. The word "police" is nowhere on the car. Then he "flew off" And older guy in about 50 plus with a teenage passenger. Here I have spend so many years in this hobby and now had this encounter with a police impersonator in a late model Ford acting like such a jerk. It really p***es me off! Of course I have reported this to the REAL POLICE. It makes me mad that jerks like this can threaten our wonderful hobby! How ironic that I would have this "encounter" after reading the posts on Stolen NYSP plates and the photo taker having problems! Will keep you all posted after my meeting with the REAL POLICE in the AM!
