Try most or ALL of us. Bob, you are in the minority here at this site. If you disagree, try looking for the photo archieves of non-marked (call them unmarked if you want) cars- oh, I forget, there aren't any.

And yes, they are symbols- representing the history and legacies of the law enforcement agencies and officers that owned and drove those cars. Without the history and legacies, these cars are nothing but bland, uninteresting, and sometimes downright ugly, 4 dr. sedans. Disagree? Try looking for the "plain jane-low trim level-no options-4dr.- sedan-only" car clubs: oh, I forgot, there aren't any.

Having just displayed my car for the first time (since its recent completion) last night on 9/11 at a public safety appreciation dinner, the positive feedback from those in public safety was overwhelming. The funny thing is, I kept hearing about what the car represents from those in uniform; and the stories I heard... And how it was important for public safety agencies to preserve their history. As a civilian, I never expected to hear this. The other thing I heard from the folks in uniform was that the public seems to have a renewed respect for what they do.

Well, I do. I drove this car 200 miles to this event because I felt it was the thing for me to do on the 9/11 anniversary, and out of the respect I have for those in uniform. All others on this site would have done the same thing if such an event was in their community last night.

Now, I don't expect you to understand any of this. But I think all others on this site WILL.

So Bob, get over it. Why do you need to spend so much time defending yourself? You can be that one oddball- it's okay. Perhaps this is the wrong site for you, anyway.

And Tomorrow Bob, over 100 of us will be headed to W. Chester, Pa. for the largest show in country, both old and new police cars. (NT)Pete Malloy Ret., LAPD20:19:59 09/12/02 Thu
