If anyone can verify that the car did or did not have the modifications please post it. I would like to know as I drive a civilian Crown Vic and was thinking of having the modifications made.

There was an accident in NYC last night. It appears that a Caddy SUV traveling in excess of 100MPH struck a cab which burst into flames incinerating the driver. The operator of the SUV somehow was able to leave the scene on foot. The cab was so badly mangled and burnt that I could not be sure what it was from the TV footage but it looked like it was probably a Crown Vic from the grill and door frame. Easily 90% of NYC cabs are Crown Vics- the others are left over Caprices and some test minivans.

So much for the problem being related to police service use. Like that was an acceptable excuse anyway.
