Subject: Fathers attitude

This site is for parents who dress their sons in girls clothes, and parents presumably includes fathers. But I never saw anything like this.
Last weekend there was a family finishing up their lunch at a bench near me in the local country park. Father, mother, 2 children aged maybe 10-11. One had fair hair in a ponytail and wore pedal pushers with a pink top. The other, with shorter hair and a band to keep it out of the eyes, had on one of those denim skirts quite long and cut like jeans with a front zip and pockets. They were arguing over the last cookie and their father told them to run a race round a tree for it. They were neck and neck on the home straight when the mop-top one slipped and skidded face up, which rucked the skirt right up above polka dot briefs.
The mother rushed to help, pulled the skirt back into position and smoothed it down over her offspring's hips and bottom, and then said half laughing "John Paul Jones (not his real name but she said it out in full like that) maybe your sister should teach you how not to flash your panties before you come out in a skirt again." The pony-tail girl started to jeer at him and give herself airs, and the father said "Dont be so sure. Who showed off the frillies under her Sunday dress to the Smiths when they visited?". She squealed it was an accident, and he said "Well your brother didnt come down bang on his backside on purpose. Split the cookie and lets go see if we can get a boat on the lake."
I saw them later on buying ice cream. The boy sat crosslegged on the ground to eat his, and tucked his legs under his skirt and arranged it across his knees very neatly, so he was obviously quite used to wearing one and knew how to manage it. In fact if I hadnt heard what they said after he slipped Id have taken the kids for two sisters. And their father seemed quite ok with it, so to all appearances just a family enjoying the spring sun together. I mean we all know there are many lone mothers bringing up sons, but how often can this happen?
