Date Posted: 10:45:01 10/21/13 Mon In reply to: it is all about how the gown looks on you not the price 's message, "Agreed, we could cite many examples of Miss Kentucky's who have won in inexpensive gowns" on 14:19:48 10/16/13 Wed most of the last 7 title holders came from wealthy families, the few that didn't were aligned with the right people. the parents put out a lot, tickets, all clothing, shoes, etc., gala, cmn, ads, hotel and travel expenses to gala and the pageant, sometimes lessons or custom tracks, gym fees or personal trainer, then they expect anyone who is serious about winning to fly to vegas or a.c. to support the winner and "see what its all about." Don't be fooled, it takes money to win at the state level. Your girl will get some back in scholarships but the big things they can reap are the intangibles, lifelong friends, mentors, interview skills, self confidence, contacts, etc, if they're willing to look at the big picture. | Well put! But if you plan on being a real contender, you will need a designer dress that usually doesn't come cheap. It's just a fact. | No name | 14:59:00 10/21/13 Mon |
