I have always heard and seen the girls competing in this system sharing about the life long friends they have made and the wonderful mentors and relationships they form along the way. If someone reads this board I can only think that must be a lie. Is this really Kentucky? Are these really the girls competing in this system and who want to represent KY as a role model? Are these the thoughts that truly rule your hearts? These comments are so full of venom and hate. True hate seems to be so obvious. I realize this is a competition and not every post is from a competitor but many are and many from relatives and directors. Most comments are from someone closely connected to the system through a competitor. What an awful thing to see. We always hear the question what is character? It's who you are when no one else is looking. Is this who you are? Truly? What is your true motive here? We have stooped so low as to start picking on peoples choices of mentors and coaches? Honestly, people, please please be better for Kentucky. It's just so gross and sad that our Miss KY can't appear in public without being put down on how her hair looks. Our Teen can't post with out a mean comment here. Discussing the pageants and how people did and predicting is all part of the fun and spirit of competition but the level of nastiness that prevails here is just about as bad as it can get. Will you be so accepting of the nastiness when it is you or your family who is being ripped apart? If you are a contestant I implore you to be better. Encourage you to rise above and refuse to take part in the low down hate quagmire of this board. Make this board a place to come get updates and true discussion about this system that we all so proudly advertise as being a great place to meet friends. Be that friend. I realize everyone will not be your best friend but do they all have to be your enemy? Why are we not really the example we pretend to be when we are answering that on stage question. Are we/you truly a person of character or are you that nasty girl behind a keyboard saying your ugliest thoughts at the girl you envy or feel may best you at the next pageant. If your daughter is a minor you feel compelled to check out what you have been told. I would have never thought this would be part of the package of a pageant so rich in history and promotion of women. One must be thick skinned to compete in this system and endure this type of anonymous bullying. What does this say about our hobby of pageantry? who are we? If you defend yourself or others defend you then you fueling the fire. So you are left with feeling like you can not take up for yourself or your friends. Subject: Miss Kentucky and Miss Kentucky Teen USA
Author: no name [ Edit \| View ]	Date Posted: 15:05:41 01/14/14 Tue I will get right to the point. The Kentucky USA system is the most unprofessional and disappointment system I have seen. You would think for the price, there would have been more professional speaking MC's (they could not even read the sheets). Both the prelim night and finals night did not start on time and the intermission on finals night went way too long. The music was inconsistent with the contestants appearances. The microphone was left in the middle of the stage when some of the contestants were modeling and some contestants missed out on having their bio's read (while most were read incorrectly). Prior to pageant weekend, communication was sent that sometimes was not clear or totally lacking in content. Some of the information was even wrong. To top it all off, the decision of the winner for teen was absolutely shocking and if I had known you only had to look pretty on Facebook, walk around the stage like you didn't care, and have a prom gown, I would never have wasted my money. The same with the Miss. This is not the professional organization that Donald Trump would expect and I think he needs to see a copy of the video to see what a mess the Kentucky system was this past weekend. I do plan to write him a letter with all the details. Seven judges (supposedly professionals) made these selections? I hope not! The results were either planned in advance or it is a lure to get the really good girls to keep competing and spending their money in hopes of eventually winning. My daughter will not be back and I will encourage others not to participate in this system. I have never seen such a joke of a pageant. This is not to say that Ms. Clark is not a nice person - she was lovely to all the girls. However, being a lovely person does not make you a good pageant director.
