There is a difference between entertaining ie Miss America this year. Super talented as in someone who does something technically hard really well and someone who is marginal which I interpret as off key when singing, playing piano badly or just not entertaining. You can not win or get into finals with out a decent talent. You don't have to be a genius or gods gift but it does have to pass as above average.
