Subject: wedges

I have seen some previous comments on this subject and I remain curious. I have been playing 1irons for several years and I have always thought the concept with a graphite shaft, would be an improvement for my game. I do use a single axis swing I learned from the old Natural Golf Company. I am considering the GRIA hybrids.

My 1irons have 4 wedges and the GRIAs have only a PW. What does everybody use for wedge shots shorter than a PW? My understanding from the previous posts is that the design of the PW is so good that you don't need any other wedge. Do most players control the distance with the length of their swing with the PW?

I find that simply not swinging as hard allows the NOVA PW to do the same work as multiple wedges within a set of regular irons. I also find that by just using the PW I am a lot more consistent on those in-between pitch shots. I might also add that the wide soles on these irons makes every one of them extremely playable from a bunker.

I have a Perfect Club Sand Iron for the bunkers around the green and the rough around the green. I use the PW for 105 in and have been very accurate with just one PW.

These clubs are great!!

My partner uses the Nova's and was having a bit of trouble getting out of bunkers and stoping the ball quickly when short sided we have found that the Cleveland Smart Sole S Wedge is a great addition to her set as it has a wide sole and comes in a Graphite shaft also I hope this helps.

I use the 1 Iron Golf SW and LW with my NOVAs. They do the job perfectly well.
