Old school

I went to my old primary school, I met up with 2 of my old friends from way back when! My husband came with me, he didn't mind trailing around after us and we talked ten to the dozen. I hadn't seen one of them since i was 11 and the other when i was in my twenties, so you can imagaine it was great to see them again. We had a good look round and went into one of our old class room, it brough back so may memories, some things I had forgotten about. They had a display in the hall from previous years and we found one of all the teachers taken at the time we were there, so we took a copy to take home, the fashions sure looked strange, which you don't seem to realise at the time!! The school is being demolished in September and the new cschool is looking really good, it was a little sad to see the old one as it had been run down a bit, probably because they knew they were getting the new one. It's been there for nearly 50 years, one of the pupils we met was from the class of 55, the year after it has opened! We were a bit disapointed with the turn out, but I guess some people don't want to go back, I was happy there so I really enjoyed it, we hope to keep in touch now after this and maybe get together with other's if we can find where people are. Anyway I had a really good day!!

What a wonderful reunion, Valerie! That's great that you could get a copy of the picture of your teachers. You'll probably treasure that even more as the years go by.
