Subject: Older Pa in series
After watching Sam Shephard in the Lonesome Dove finale "Streets of Laredo", I think he would make a very good older Pa in the series. Not sure if his eyes are naturally blue, but they were in SOL. What are your suggestions?

Sam Shehard sounds like an excellent choice! Possibly Tommy Lee Jones, who was so good as "Doo" in Coal Miner's Daughter, though I can't remember what color his eyes are.

Yes i agree Tommy Lee Jones would be good in the part, think his eyes may be brown. Have you seen him recently in a western film, I think it was called "Missing" with Cate Blanchett?

Tommy Lee Jones was superb in Lonesome Dove playing Woodrow Call. I hated he was not in any of the sequels, although James Garner did a very good job in Streets of Laredo.

Good actor. But he might be a bit too healthy looking for the role, lol. Pa had kind of a haggard look, especially when he was older.
