Subject: Snow anywhere?

One of my favorite LIW books is The Long Winter and whenever I hear about snow, I think of that story. The forecast is for snow later this week in the Cascade Mountains (about an hour's drive from where I live, it rarely snows here in the valley).

Has it snowed yet where you live?

No nothing on the ground in my town *yet*. it's supposed to be a little warmer, around 17 the next 2 days. It has snowed in the next town over where I work. They're down the escarpment where as we're on top. I'm waiting though. Snow is only exciting before the holidays. Then January comes and it becomes nasty!

Well, we are coming on 10 months here in Virginia Beach. The locals tell me snow is rare, but when we arrived at X-mas last year it did nothing but snow! We are California people. We are not used to any type of bad weather. :)

Here where I live we don't get snow that much(north west england) it's still very mild at the moment, heating not been on much yet. Last year we had snow on christmas day which was the first time I can ever remember!

Firstly hello to everyone! Happy 1st Birthday to your daughter Lisa!

Definitely no snow here since we are gearing up for another long, hot summer in Australia. In winter it does snow in some parts of Australia, like some mountain areas, but I have never seen snow in my life, living here in Perth.

I envy you people who get a white Christmas. Christmas is normally a sweaty hot day over here. Ick! Not nice when cooking the big old roast turkey... And yet I don't feel that a cold lunch tastes Christmasy...
