Subject: Christmas Chapters

Hi, I was wondering does anyone else go through the LIW books about this time of year and read all the Christmasy chapters? I do, I love the simplicity of the Ingalls Christmases, where there are usually few presents but lots of love and togetherness.

I am giving my 7 1/2 year old daughter a boxed set of the Laura books this year. I am so excited in anticipation of her reaction. I have read to her aloud from my old falling apart set in the past and she has enjoyed that, I am sure she will love to have her own set to read. I got my set when I was about 7 or 8.

Yes, I read the Christmas chapters from LIW. Really puts me in the mood, and is a good reminder of how much we have to be grateful for.
Which set are your buying for your daughter? The one with the new covers and illustrations? Whichever, she should be thrilled!

Ann, I have bought the set with the gingham covers, I had bought it a few years ago and put it aside to give to my daughter when she was ready.

I like to re read THGY Christmas the most I think. I love the surprise present Laura gets, and the KISS*

I do like the gingham covers on the book the most also. I think it helps give that country feel lol.
