Concert tickets
I'm so pleased at the moment as on Monday I managed to get some tickets to see Donny Osmond next year, he's coming over to the UK and is coming to my old home town, so I couldn't believe it, my husband isn't too keen on going with me but one of the girls at work may come instead. I'm on cloud nine, brings back lots of memories from when I was a young teenager!! He was on a programme over here on saturday, he still looks good!!! his brothers came on the show with him, the audiance didn't know about it, they went wild.

Congratulaions on getting the tickets, Valerie. As the *mother* of a now grown woman who was a big Donny fan, I can remember the hours watching the old Donny and Marie Show. In fact, we still have (in prime condition) my daugher's Donny and Marie dolls.
Now Donny is hosting The Twenty Thousand Dollar Pyramid on TV (or is it 100,000 dollars now???)
Have fun at the concert!

Way to go, Valerie! You are sure to have a blast there. I used to love watching the Donny and Marie show when I was younger (wasn't so many years ago, was it???), and my mother graciously put up with all of my pre-adolescent swooning. I have Donny's Christmas CD, and I must say that it is one of my favourites, played through at least twice a day. Drives my husband nuts, but he likes Abba (not their Christmas CD, just anything by Abba), so I figure he has no business complaining about my music taste. I think Mr. Osmond has a great voice. ;-) Check it out, I think you'd like the Christmas CD as well. It's called Donny Osmond, Christmas At Home.

Re: Concert tickets -- Valerie, 02:14:42 11/29/02 Fri
It's a few months off yet, but I am really looking forward to it!! He has been on several TV programmes over here in the UK promoting his lates Album and it's just gone Gold, it's got a couple of old hit and cover versions, he mentiond that his second eldest son was getting married this Saturday, doesn't it make you feel old?? He has coming over to England to live and work over here with his new wife. Donny said that he could be a Grandad this time next year!! I could not believe how many grandchildren he said his parents now had--57!!!
This will keep me going through the Winter months!!

I used to love Donny too... just adored him. But I have to tell you that I was even MORE in love with David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman. Anyone remember Bobby Sherman? I had requested a picture of him from his fan club, and when one was sent to me and was autographed, I felt like it was from HIM, himself, lol... I was 11 years old. I carried that picture in my pocket everywhere I went, until the picture of him was no longer visible. Valerie, I am so glad that you get to go and see Donny.. have a great time!

I remember Bobby Sherman! Didn't host Hullaballoo or something like that, as well as sing?

Re: Concert tickets/ Ann -- Cindy C, 15:32:51 11/29/02 Fri
I don't remember that Ann,except I think I remember he had his own show for a while, a variety show, I think, and I don't think it lasted long. I don't even remember the names of alot of his songs, although I bet if I heard them today, I would still know the words by heart, lol . I remember one name of a song and it was "Easy Come, Easy Go". And he was on a weekly series , and I don't remember if it was "Here Come The Brides"( I think it was), or "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". Now, THAT is going to bug me!

Here's a site that I think you'll enjoy: http://www.bobbysherman.com/
It was Shindig he was on, not Hullaballu.

Thanks Ann! -- Cindy C, 01:10:41 12/01/02 Sun
I spent an hour looking through that site! It was so much fun to see his old pictures, and remember what a CRUSH I had on him, and I realized that I was only 9 when "Here Come The Brides" was on, and not 11. I was also very pleased to see what he has done with his life.. a Sherriff! Wow! I have to say tho, that his sons are not nearly as handsome as HE was, and Bobby still looks pretty good for his age. That was a fun site to visit.. thanks again, Ann.

Re: Concert tickets -- Pat, 21:26:08 12/20/02 Fri
Hi Valerie,
You will ENJOY his concert. I saw him about one year ago when he came to our area. He was touring with Anne Cochran and Jim Brickman. The reason I went was for Donny. He is just fantastic. My friends and I got wind of the fact that he would sign autographs after the concert if you waited by his bus. Guess what we did. We waited and got his autograph. I got his autograph on an album that he sang on with his brothers when they were the Osmond Brothers. He signed the cover and we got pictures of him. Enjoy yourself.
Thanks to all of you who wished us well on our children. We are so very happy and can't wait until Christmas.

Yes I'm really looking forward to seeing him, i just can't believe he's coming to my old home town, which is the north west of England. The Osmonds would never have come there when they were in their really popular days. Although we did get Diana Ross back in the 70's and more groups seem to coming now. Usually they come to Manchester which is't too far away from where I live. now. It's just a dream come true, can't wait!!!

Re: Concert tickets -- Pat, 09:05:23 12/21/02 Sat
Hi Valerie,
I have seen Wayne, Jay, Merrill, and Jimmy perform in Branson, Missouri when they used to have their theater there. They closed their theater and now Wayne, Jay, and Merrill tour around the country. I got their autographs on that same album cover too. It was really neat. I saw their Christmas show one year and then saw one of their regular shows on another time. They get better looking as they get older.
