Subject: A Little House Christmas

My son is in Kindergarten and I recently orded this book for him thru the monthly book forms they get. I don't know if any one had heard of it but I hadn't. ( I got it for him because he likes the My first Little House series) It has the Christmas chapters from Little House in the Big Woods, Little House on the Praire and On the Banks of Plum Creek. I like that we can read just the Christmas chapters right now. We read half of it and it's still amazing how happy they were just getting just a few presents. Laura was thrilled the year she got Charlotte, a pair of mittens and a pice of candy. And then her and Mary were so amazing the year they got a cup , a small cake a piece of candy and a penny of all their own. If that happened now kids (or at least most of them) would be upset. It gives me a chance to explain to my son the true meaning of Christmas and show him than kids din't always get a lot but were happy at what they got(we're reading now Christmas on Plum Creek)
It also came with a soft cover of Santa Comes to Little House.(that story is in the other booknbut that's ok)

Last year I read all the Christmas chapters from the LHOP books, but it would have been a lot easier to have just one book. I'll have to look for that one. :)

There is a book that summaries all of the Christmas Chapters from the books. I can't think of what its called. Not sure but "Little House Christmas Stories".
