I do know the divorce rates for second marriages are higher than for first marriages. I'm sure there are second marriages that are good and strong and lasting. But think of the "baggage" that is brought to a second marriage makes it more difficult--ex-spouses, ex-in-laws, blending families if there are kids. Some people do it beautifully, I'm sure, but it must be hard. For one thing, the kids may or may *not* be thrilled with having a step-parent and maybe step-siblings and the kids didn't fall in love with anyone, they are just along for the "ride" so, being kids, they probably make their feeling known in more ways than one!
