Jennifer, that is great news. I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well. Some day when my hubby and I get a chance to go down there we will all have to get together and eat our way through the yummiest SD restaurants! (It will be interesting meeting my "son" for the first time, lol.)

Hi Ann,
If you're going to go to SD and eat well. Here are two stops worth making. Go to Wall Drug in Wall, SD. Yes, it is a drug store and many, many other stores as well. There is a restaurant in there and the food is really good. There is quite a wide variety. I don't know if this place is still in existence but I'll tell you about it. It is called Trout Haven. This place is near Mount Rushmore. It is a small place but the trout was fantastic. I loved it. I do think that they serve trout for breakfast and lunch. There is also other things on the menu. Actually I am thinking of another place that was really good as well. I don't remember the name of the restaurtant. It is located in Sturgis, SD. This place is known for its pies. They do server other food too. We only ate the pie there and it was superb. There's a little food for thought.

The SD I meant was San Diego, but after reading your mouth-watering descriptions of places to eat in South Dakato, I'm ready to pack my bags for there! Sadly, I don't think I'm going to get travel this summer. I'm pretty much running two households right now as my mother is failing. But I do look forward to some day going down to SD CA and meeting Jennifer and Delilah, and now going to SC the state and eating trout (yum) and other scrumptious delights.

Actually, it turned out great--now we all know where to eat if we go to South Dakato, too. Yum! :)

Pat, 1) you are no dummy by any means! It was just as easy to think SD was South Dakota as San Diego, 2) this has given me an idea. Why don't we all post places to eat where we live (or where we've visited) that we like? Who knows when anyone of us might travel to where another of us lives or has visited?
Here in Eugene, Oregon, I like West Brothers (barbeque and all-American food). The Electric Station is nice, a nice variety of foods, and many of the tables are inside of old train cars. Adam's Place is $$$, but elegant and very good food. For hamburgers, Jamie's is great.
