Do we have a different commentary than the US version did? Because our commentary is given with a British accent.

I struggle to remember who is who between Glenns and Clunes - their names are too similar for my poor brain and I am usually ironing or sorting endless washing when the telly is on, so don't concentrate enough! Who is it who is getting divorced now?

I did wonder about the commentary. Isn't it the same person who narrated 1900 House? It sounds like the same person.

The narrator here in the US did not have a British accent, so the commentator is different, but of course maybe saying the same things.
The Glenns are Karen and Mark, they have the cabin that was already built when they got there, Karen has black hair and is always bragging about how well-prepared she and her family is compared to the Clunes. They have 2 children, and the girl loves the animals and works well with them.
The Clunes had the partially built cabin, have 4 children with them (3 are theirs, one is a neice), so they do have more mouths to feed, but more careful planning would probably help them a lot. Adrianna (sp?) is originally from Ireland and still has an accent (he's, [Gordon] originally from Canada and still has a bit of that accent). Adrianna is an excellent cook, does some amazing things (wait'll you see the wedding cake she makes!) with limited ingredients and a wood stove. Funny, she can't think of ways to stretch the food better. In the book she says that after they leave FH and are back in California the family found itself wanting what she called frontier food, and she was making pancakes for breakfast, etc. because that's how they'd eaten in the frontier.

while waiting for a doctor's appointment, I picked up a Better Homes and Gardens magazine that had the second of a three part article about the women of FH. I'm going to try to find the others at the library (the one I read was in the May issue).
Adrianna was saying the early morning was her favorite part of the day there, and that having coffee was a *must* because it was the one moment in the day where she could relax for a couple of minutes. She said it took an hour from starting to build the fire, to going to the creek to get water, to putting the water on to boil, to finally getting a cup of coffee!
Kristin said how much she enjoyed having tea with Adrianna once or twice a week, how good the cakes, pies, etc. Adrianna made were. No mention of either ever getting together with Karen.
