Yes, her life would have been different for sure, but I am thinking that maybe she would have written the books anyway, since writing was within her, and her child hood would have still been the same. I wonder if she had gotten together with Cap... would she have still ended up with Almanzo after Caps death? Seems that her and Almanzo were destined to be together...they were married a long time. A destiny is a destiny... what do yall think?

Cap might not have died if he had married Laura -- more than just that one part of history might have been rewritten!

I think Laura and Cap would have had FUN as a couple; Almanzo was so into farming and Cap might have been more of a free spirit and wanderer (like Pa). Cap didn't take out a homestead when he was 21, for example.

Then again, Almanzo seemed to be really close to Pa, and I wonder how much he really had to do with Laura and Almanzo getting together?

I also wonder if the fact that Cap had a widowed mother and two sisters made him less desirable? Maybe girls figured they'd be put to work in the boarding house as Cap's wife and didn't want any part of it.

I wish Cap had been part of the tv show, though.
