Just out of curiousity, how many trick or treaters did everyone get last night? I'm wondering if the numbers are dwindling everywhere! We had ZERO children. And we live on a quiet residental street. Goodness. Now i'm stuck in the house, alone, with a big bowl of chocolate and rockets.

You have a big bowl of chocolate and rockets? Poor you. Tsk, tsk. I'm on my way to help you get rid of them. LOL

We went out for the night, so I have no idea how many kids were out-and-about, but I do know that the Grade 11 and 12 classes were going around town collecting stuff for the Food Bank, and if you were going to be away from home, you could leave it on your front step and they'd take it for you (we live in a small, safe town!). When we got home late last night, the box of food we set out was still there, so I drove it over to the Food Bank depot myself this morning. I have no idea why they missed our house ... we live on a very BUSY street in town. I guess that's indicative of how many kids were trick-or-treating, though.

I think we had about 80 kids. This was a great year--all the kids had wonderful costumes, they all said, "Thank you" and "Happy Halloween" and the only thing I found on the sidewalk in the morning was a couple of candy wrappers. Our new cat had a ball peeking out at the trick-or-treaters.
It was cold, but the kids didn't seem to mind. A lot parents went around with the kids, so that might explain why they were so polite and no one pulled any tricks. ;)
Whatever the reason, it was a fun Halloween.

We live down in an area with four little roads, and no outlet, so all of the kids go elsewhere to do their trick or treating, which really, these days is ok with me! My son is 15 years old, and I still buy him candy.. lots of chocolate, of course, which he shares with my hubby and I, lol, and it has been a tradition in our house that after we carve the pumkin, I gather all of the seeds and bake them..So that is what we did. My daughter and her husband , however, had a great time at their house. They dressed my one year old twin grandsons up in Lion costumes( they looked adorable, of course), and she and her husband painted their own faces to greet the trick or treaters at their door. She carved the babies names on their pumpkin, and I must say it looked like a professional carver did the job! By the way.. we still have lots of chocolate left... ohhhhhh!
