Subject: BTP Movie Sneek Peek

Hi everyone!!
Now that the old MooCow (PC) is back up and running...watch out, because I am BACK! heehee

I happened to pop over to the CBS.com web site this morning to check the program schedule for "Beyond The Prairie..." and found a link on the page where you can (or are supposed to be able to) view a "sneek peek" of the upcoming movie. For some reason, I am unable to get anything to load, so I can't tell you what the "sneek peek" is, but if you want to check it out yourself, here's the link: Beyond The Prairie II: The True Story of LIW Continues

If the hyperlink doesn't work (meaning *I* messed something up), here's the url that you can copy and paste: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/movies_specials/mov_beyond_the_prairie.shtml

If any of you get the 'sneek peek' to play for you, let me know what scene is shown and possibly what program (i.e. QuickTime, Windows Media Player, etc.) allowed you to view the durned thing!

Have a fabulous day!!!
Hugs!

All I got was a blank screen. Usually it will say you have to have such-and-such to view something, but I saw no clue of what was needed.
I did find it interesting in the description of the movie where it said, "Meanwhile, Rose is challenged at school where she is picked on unmercifully by the local children who don't accept outsiders." From what I read it did sound as if Rose was looked down on by the children living in town, but it also sounded as if she looked down on the children who lived in the hills who came to school barefoot and in raggedy clothes.

I got a little icon in the upper left-hand corner of the blank window and when I clicked on that, it told me about a viewer I could download (which I didn't do).

A friend told me about a preview (review?) of BTP which called it "Prairie Dog" and said it was horrid - that any episode of 'Lassie' had better writing.

Guess it will be like a bad wreck -- I'll have to watch it (and tape it!) but it won't be pretty.

I didn't get the preview to play but did find the description of it interesting. I can't wait to watch it but know I'll be picking it apart. Like how it says that Laura started her books as they were moving to Missourri and that Rose decided to becaome a writer because Laura was one.

I saw the preview it looks like it is going to be a great movie, i think it might be better than the last one. I don't know how close it is going to be to the books, but hopefully better than the first one. I think it might be better because we already know about laura having blonde hair in the movie. So I think our expectations won't be as high as they were for the first one. I hope I remember to tape it, because i have a lot going on that day. I am planning a baby shower for my friend for that day with about 50 guests, so its going to be a big day for me..LOL

Thanks, Kellie! It worked for me. It looks entertaining, but doesn't seem to follow the books. I can't wait to see it.

I was finally able to view the clip after downloading RealOne Player (again)! I had forgotten about that program after having had to re-format and re-install everything again to "cure" my pc's illness!

While I am a bit skeptical of the storyline presentation, I think this movie will be a good one to watch! At the very least, I'm sure we'll all have a great deal to say about it!!! :o)
