Subject: OT but a great book

Has anyone read "Angela's Ashes" by Frank McCourt? It is very good- about a childhood in the 1930's/40's first in NY, then back in Ireland. I heard about it ages ago. Can't BELIEVE I took so long to get hold of it. I couldn't put it down.

Go get it from the library NOW!!

Yes I read it. Fantastic book! I still have yet to see the movie though. I did not read the second book Tis. I was told it was not good like the first book.

I am reading 'Tis now. It is not quite as good (maybe because life is not so wretched!), but I still can't put it down.

I saw the film, but haven't read the book. The film was very depressing but I still enjoyed it.

I loved Angela's Ashes; a fantastic, (if depressing) read. I haven't seen the movie though, I don't know if I will seek it out.

I read 'Tis too and liked it alot, though it couldn't match the shocking content of Angela's Ashes (thank goodness).

One thing is for sure; Frank McCourt came through his devastating childhood with such spirit and humour, it amazes me.

I loved Angela's Ashes, but didn't enjoy 'Tis as much. I also loved the film of Angela's Ashes.
